YumaJet, I've been looking for a 19' for a long time and that one has been for sale for a while now. When you look at it make sure you dont get all excited about getting it just because its a Daytona. Look at it like any old boat and add up what it will cost to fix it. I'm not saying its a bad deal, I havnt seen it in person. But, theres some realy great deals out there now.

BTW, I paid less then that for my 21' project with a 300hp outboard on it. And there is another member here that paid less then that for his 21' project also.

bottom is blueprinted and pump is set up. that was some years ago. tom papp and i think, greg shoemaker, had their hands on this combo. it was an old race boat with light to mild layup. turned into ski boat some 1 years ago and has been sitting for some 13 years. thanks for the comments. ill be in socal, so let me know if theres anything checking out while im here.

The gel is rough, we know that.

Lets see more pics, bottom, intake, etc. If the boat is sound and has potential it could be a good boat down the road. The stringers are cut down for a back seat which kinda sucks but can be dealt with. I remember it being discussed in the SPAM section a while back, when it was up for sale then it looked like it had the race type bottom meaning it had the low lift reliefs in it, hopefully those were put in when they built the boat and its not an after thought. If it was done as a modification you can only hope whoever did it knew what they were doing or you will be babysitting it non stop repairing it all the time.. Im 90% sure it was done in the mold which is a good thing.

thanks again for your opinion tom and the rest of the crew here. he was dead set on $5k and wouldnt even budge to $4500. it definately needs a lot of work with the floors, complete paint job, bulk head rotted and a few questionable repairs on each sponson and a few extra holes on the thin balsa stringers. the pump was "recently" rebuilt over 13 years ago too. i felt like he wanted to get some money back, so im going to pass. ive seen gullwings, minus motor, is much better condition for a lot less. either way, im not going to bad mouth, just writing what i saw and hope he gets the $5k.

to each their own but my .02 isto call shoemaker and order a new one that he is making, give you odds when all is added p you can do a new one cheaper and have a new boat.

My .02 is that this would cost a hell of a lot more than .02 :)bulb

That boat is rough. He is going to have trouble getting 5k for sure. Good luck to him though, it looks like the boat does have potential.

$5k is way too much IMO.

Finnegan and I bought the "Jester" a couple years back in the same if not better condition with everything that boat has for $2500.

Also, there was a thread about this boat a while back. I question if it was a race boat. Rail kit installed at wrong angle, stock tanks, stock/old school steering & forward reverse cable/etc.

Not saying it's not worth bringing back ... but in today's market, not worth $5k.

Shoot Segni's gullwing is back on the market for not much more than that.
