Chuck Boyd ran an Eliminator (Grich Driving) back in the early 70's. They didn't keep it long.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they were bad boats but in general they weren't stand outs.

can you maybe tell me why they did not ? or why back then would someone chose a boat from jim over a eliminator ? just the molds ? handling ?

I'd like to know the answer to this question too. I have a 73 that needs lots of work to save it. I really don't want to spend the time and money it wants, if there is something, lets say, unfavorable about the hull. I can tell just by looking the hull seems to be wider then most I've seen, and has a bit of rocker.

Who's Jim?

Win on sunday sell on monday... it's pretty simple really.

Not all flattys were created equal (except some of the ones that were copied - right Chad ;)).

Jim cole sorry I grew up with two of his son's and loved his boats but could not afford one of his molds at the time wish I would of just waited. My eliminator was the first boat I ever bought I don't even know what they called my mold was it a spider ? . So any info is great to hear thank you SS

That's the later and rare spider. They work good! Ron Ehde designed those boats I was told. :))THumbsUp

Thanks for the reply and help SS sorry but after looking at your post mine is not a bubble. It looks more like 70 Eliminator's old boat. Here is a ? maybe you can help my rookie butt out with this please what is the deal with the letter "K" - what ever # on boat ? what do they consider a "k" class ?

"K" is a racing class of the American power boat association. The number after differentiates each boat from another.
