Picked up a new 170gph mechanical pump for the new motor and the damn fittings run right into my motor plates. This thing is supposed to be "clockable" but to be honest, I've never had to do this and other than pulling the bolts and moving them housing, is there anything else I need to do?

It's a Carter Comp Series if that makes a difference.... Thanks everyone for the help in advance.....john

Okey dokey then, I'll try clocking it and see where it gets me. Rick, the plates been massaged about as far as I would want to so I'm hoping I can clock it enough so at the very least I can get it the rest of the way with some swoopin AN fittings.

Thanks everybody

The only way a mech. pump is going on my deal is with some some artistic triming on my motor plate. There is an existing hole that I'll have to make twice as large. Jrork when you get done could you put up a pic, I'm wondering if maybe your pump is physically(sp?) smaller than my carter pump. I don't want to cut more than I have to. The carter I have is just the street/strip 7psi deal.

Consider it done. My Edelbrock fit in there nice a can be but this Carter doesnt even come close and like I mentioned, the fittings are pointed in the wrong direction........ I'll post up the disaster this weekend when I get a chance to mess with it............Thanks for the replies....john
