trying to get an idea of et gains at sealevel, i know there is a 8 to 10mph gain from N.M. to AZ. but never had clocks to see ET difference. I know there are alot of variables, just looking for an average. My boats runs 7 teens in a 1000ft at 5000ft 100* day. Hoping it will run TE #s

Heres an interesting formula I just found to apply and ponder :) ....hp loss = elevation x 0.03 x hp @ sea level
1000
now wheres a calculator ?

FWIW based on calculations off my flat 7 teens on a 1000' course should be around 9.04-9.11 in a 1/4 mile so it looks like you should be right there especially if you can get some better air.

You will have no problems running the number, put some thought into how you can slow the thing down. What was the DA when you ran that and where and when is your next race? The DA is the thing to pay attention to

I find that for ever 500-feet the density altitude increases on my weatherstation, my boat slows down about .025 second.

Then again, that figure goes right out the window if the driver is a tard, the hardware is wrong, or the compressed gas attendant spikes the bottle pressure before I make a pass.

Thanks guys, have'nt really payed attention to anything yet, still trying to get use to the boat again, have'nt driven since 06. only have a dozen passes since it got back on the water. I'm in the process of getting the data system going. I'll pay attention to things at the next race in a couple weeks. thanks again for the input.
