I've been trying to figure this one out for a few years now. I'm on my 16th season with my BBF and now trying to plan to rebuild the motor. I want to get away from using my log exhaust, but I don't want to give up my two jump seats next to the motor box. The only thing I have right now is to use cylinder heads with Chevy exhaust and have Bassett custom make the water jacketed headers for me, but I'll have over four grand just in heads and exhaust. I also heard that Stainless Steal Marine exhaust can work in tight spaces. Can anybody help us?????

Right on, did they indicate if the new exhaust are actually Chevy and would need an adapter piece?
made for ford, no adapters needed.. manifolds are to be around 1400 to 1500 then another 700 to 850 for the riser and tail section.. he wasn't sure of prices because they are not on the market yet.. i guess i will call back in a month

Headers

I can't believe that nobody has suggested Lightning jacketed headers. They are made for Chevy but offer an adapter plate for BBF. I run them under my engine cover on my cruiser with the jump seats still in place. They stay cool, sound good and I picked up 300 rpm over my logs and risers. You can sometimes find a used set on the boards for under a grand.
