I would like to see what adding a droop snoot and or loader grate did for your boats performance, i already have a ride plate and set back pump...thinking of adding a droop and loader grate, maybe an inducer if it will really help. can i get some real numbers of top speed gains or max rpm changes from all you jet boaters. thanks a lot!

Droop is different on every boat....you will have to try it to see if it will work for you. If you are running over 70 a loader is a must.

with a loose pump and 300 pounds of extra weight i was creeping up on 65mph before i let off, so im hoping after the pump rebuild and a few new modifications i can reach 70. and this is with a 340hp 454, after the pump is ready is rigged its engine time!

I wonder what a 500 10 to 1 ford will do. I can tell you a 425hp will get you to 5k at 76mph.

5K @ 76mph just means the pump may be a little more efficient than my pump, or the boat it's in may be a little lighter than mine, hull tuning, etc etc. Nothing to do with the motor.

I am also curious about before and after results, specifically for an Eliminator Bubbledeck or a similar hull.

I understand that results are different from boat to boat, even in same/similar hull designs. But if 99.9991% of those using the droop, in that style hull, have positive results, then I would feel better about spending the initial cash for the mod han for something that has positive results only 51% of the time.

Talk to tom at Jet boat performance. I was wondering the same thing and he was straight up. He told me that with the size of my boat (20') a droop probably wouldnt be worth it. From the sound of things he's an expert on this shit and is very generous with his time and wisdom. hes an advertiser here.

I put on an SS loader and picked up 1mph. I also felt that I had better acceleration as well, but I had also just adjusted my valves so I'm not sure what to give credit to...

when my boat 1993 caribbean (boat in avatar)
had the stock 330 hp BB chevy, worn out j/g berkley A cut imp with place diverter it went 52 mph. had mpd do the pump with a/b cut imp stage 1.5 blueprint, first test with fresh pump 59mph. then we added a place droop 61mph, next was a place bolt on ride plate 62mph all the test runs were made back to back parts were changed on the ramp. my conclusion is for my boat droop was worth 2mph ride plate 1mph. hope this helps.

My personal experience. My boat is a heavy 21 Ultra Stealth with a stock SBC 350 hp. With nothing done to the boat it went 52-53 MPH with a full load. I put a loader grate,droop snoot and a ride plate it now goes 55-56 mph with a full load. The fastest I had the boat was 57.8 mph. That was just me in it no load and 1/2 tank of gas. All my speed was recorded on my hand GPS. I believe it helped out my boat but again all boats are different. Just my two cents.grn

a droop lowers the thrust angle of the nozzle creating more lift, that is my understanding

Droops typically benefit small light boats , but I've had feed back from customers that have enjoyed sucess from biggun's too,Also good reports on Duanes Striaght snoot and bigger boats and tunnel hulls a droop is always an "experiment" as far as we are concerned . The wrong loader or worse an incorrectly installed and "tuned" loader can harm your performance and actually slow you down and/or cause handling issues you might be surprized at the boats that come in with a loader blade a 1/2 inch below keel . IMO stay away from "river racer" angle iron stuff , all after market loaders need high qualiy and need upgraded oversize thru bolts ! call or PM if we can help Tom

if you just bolted it under there without tuning it, you cost yourself quite a bit of mph trim it till the ramps are 1/8th below keel as your starting pointbulb

I already have a steering extension with the ball socket at the transom because the pump is set back, will i need to extend it further for the droop snoot?
