this may be a dumb question, but, why is your hand hole cover so tall?
$uperJoe,

Jet tech 101.

In race applications, there has to be a device to ensure that the boat can slowdown without “Stuffing the Bow”.

What you think is a hand hole cover is the device that allows water to escape from the jet drive for that purpose, “Pop-off Valve” is what it’s called.

That jet drive bowl was designed by Dave Jones, “Pops @ Aggressor”, because we wanted thicker material at the beginning of the pressurized water flow transition from the impeller to 9 vanes Aggressor Bowl where it begins to necks down.
Since then, late 2006-07 until Dave Jones stopped making the Aggressor parts, they all were machined that way to be thicker.

The impeller is an Aggressor manufactured before 2010 and it will be fine as far as being safe.
Several Blown Gas Jet Record holders have used these part and had great success. :secret:

Unknown, but better than 7.80, MPH more than 125 less than 145 :)Unsure

We are not looking to set the track on fire. Just get the bugs out and make decent hp & ET.

Extreme Jet Drive - Cyclone Speed & Marine

May 21, 2012

Hello People,

Mike Miller,
Thank for the intro to Bob, from Vortech

John @ C&J Engineering - Good to see you and the news was welcome.

My lake boat Carbs are still hanging in there,
your work in spot on every time I change configuration.

Cyclone Speed & Marine – Jim Brock,
the jet hooked up like you said it would and the rpms are in the ball park.

Ron, Thanks for all those suggestions and tips.

We had minor damage to the power plant and it will be back together for the Elsinore race. :)eh:)

Judging from the photo I'm seeing it's a Berkeley bowl.

Ron,

Yes the first setup was and the one that split was a Berkley.
Most of all the bowls manufactured today have thicker transitions in that area.

The current impeller is a Triple A Aggressor Bronze and we think it will do just fine after I fix this oiling problem.:)Unsure
