HI`
I just had a new wood deck install on to a Raysoncraft 20 foot flatbottom. The person that did the deck work was also going to paint the cap and joint seam whre the deck attaches to the sides of the boat. Well for the reason he gave me ( boat was too long to fit into his paint aera.
So I got the boat with the cap and sides primed by him.
When I got it home I got it painted. Cost me $2200.00. Now I see where the deck is attached to the sides a blister looking budlge at the seam .
There is also blisters & bubbles on the top of the cap were it looks like screw are under the paint
I talked to the guy and he said it was a paint problem with the primer.
I told him I did not think so because if I had a primer paint problem it would show all over the paint, not just along the seam.
I found some glue that had run on the inside of the boat at a seam. I looked like Gorilla glue.
When I asked about the glue the person told me that he had been using this glue for years.
What it looks like is that the glue is expanding and pushing out.
The seams were glassed with mat and then a layer of cloth.
Maybe he sanded to close to the wood?
Any ideas?
Thanks
