Have a Schiada with Pfaff 540 blower motor....has a breaker on the front of the engine that started to reset last time I was out.....called Pfaff...said I might have a short somewhere....you can just reset the button and the motor starts again and runs without issue...but once I shutdown again, it trips the breaker until I reset it again.

Wondering where I might start troubleshooting....check connections on alternator, batteries, where else should I start looking...

Very odd.

I'd look at the ignition switch. Disconect battery first. There is most likely a 10 or 12 gauge wire running from the battery to the bottom the breaker, connected to one of 2 terminals. From the other terminal a wire of the same size will run to the ignition switch. There could be some deviation , but thats the general idea of that circuit from what I have gathered.(wired 3 boats and they all run!)

Switch is cheap, replace it. Breaker is cheap too.

Excuse the questions if they seem dumb, but you are speaking of the ignition switch on the back of side of where the key goes right? Also, once I disconnect the battery, how would I test?

Basically when the circuit breaker trips, I can either reset the breaker....or I can jump it at the ignition so you may be correct...

Sounds like the breaker is getting weak, but it is possible to have a short though. I would just replace the breaker first and go from there!..

I would check the wiring under the dash, including the backside of the ign. switch. Breakers rarely go bad and in a boat situation wires tend to get lose and move around. M
