my nordic seems to bounce the nose alil more than i'd like over 80 and i'm thinking the rideplate is alil too wide and too short. it sticks out past the hull only 6inches, but its 10inches wide:)sphss just doesn't seem right to me, but i also don't get these flat keeled tunnels:mad: is the keel so flat that's all the rideplate it needs? or can i build a longer , narrower rideplate?

as soon as the bow starts packing some air under it, i can feel the boat rock back and forth alil, almost would call it porpuse'n:)st i'm thinking it needs more plate to lean the boat back on, but this is my 1st 19ft tunnel and i'm not sure if its that, or the downfall of the keel:)st

On another thread, this was also talked about and it was said to see how true to the hull bottom it is... Meaning put a straght edge on the boat bottom and then adjust the ride plate(s) so they are even with the bottom. I couldn't answer your question but remember reading about this just this morning.

i'm gonna try less angle and build a plate 3inches longer, see if that helps.i was at 4* and i think it may have been too much, the boat had 2* when i got it.

Make it zero and see what that does before making anything. I forget who said it, but the plates can act as giant hook in the bottom.

hook is a downward facing curve, not a up curve:D i'll try 2 and see if that gets rid of it.

OH, I thought your 2* and 4* were in the down attitude.
that'd put me on the pickleforks:D i don't know anyone who runs down angle other than vdrivers:p

yeah id make it about 4-6 inches longer, with side plates so no bending and run her at 1-2 up...should work wonders for it flat keel sucks tho. Friend had same boat and we got it to run pretty good. If i remember the plate stopped a bit past the turn pins on berkly droop snoot maybe 1" or so ??


Oh BTW when u get her up and runnin its gunna unhook like a bitch.....flat keel...use pressure guage and adjust shoe depth

its the flat keel that scares em:D i know its shit, but i do have to say , i can leave flatter and quicker than most 19ft tunnel cause the keel is flat, sob planes out soooooo damn fast, but i can tell it hurts the boat above 80.

is his pump set back? my pump is as far forward in a tunnel hull as they could put it:|err:)st my bowl bolts are prob 3inches from the transom, just nuff room to get them out with a wrench.

ya....transom split handhole cover so its a 1/2 setback..lol...had a blown 454 it her..i guess for lack of a better term you have to "force" water to the pump by lowering shoe and that of course will cause really bad things to happen if motor quits at 95...ur going swimmin' 4 sure
capps did a keel on another friends 19 flat keel daytona...ran great after it was done if boat is perfect and u r keeping it id do that well worth the coin IMHO

i'll see ervin friday nite or saturday, he'll be up at the ftcobb races, gonna have him take a look under it. boat has too many stress cracks for me to consider having keel work done, its just not that nice a hull.if i can keep the pump loaded and run 85, shit i'm happy:)devil 85 on a pump gas 10.5 to 1 468 is gooooooood;) and it's getting there!

Thats fast enough for you anyway ;)

make ride plate longer and dont go so high up on your plate in degrees and try that. It all starts off of the keel line, shoe then ride plate.

hass said he remembered a couple of stock tunnels in the class i'm runnin breaking 80 in the 1000, so i just wanna make sure i've got 84-85.
don't have an adjustable shoe:mad: i've thought about 1 of those shoe and rideplate kits from duane, the epump kit worked well on my sj, but hanging shoe below keel on this thing seems dangerous to me, right now the "shoe" part of the intake is at keel along with the loader.i'm with ya on the longer plate and less angle, gotta be dragging nozzle with such a short plate too.

my friends nordic delaminated a sponson lol with me driving suddenly i was gettin hit in the leg with water...quite a bad feeling we drove it right up on the beach and was like 1/2 full when we made land, big flap of glass hanging off the side....crazy times back then...:)sphss:)sphss:)sphss

Yup think we ran his shoe like 1/8-1/4 under to keep her loaded...not good:)grn

could he not just lean it back on the tail some so the shoe saw more at keel? i guess i'm trying to run bow high alil more than i should, i'm used to setting up my gullwing:D 19ft tunnels are still a mystery to me, but i'm learning!:)hand
