After a getting my carburetor problems taken care of and test driving it the first time I run into another problem. While cruising my foot pedal cane loose. Luckily the wave behind me didn't swamp the boat. After further inspection, the rear screw came loose, so my buddy just held the back down. My question, I had a half inch screw holding it to the hull. Should I be worried about how deep that half inch screw went trough? Would it cause a slow leak and do I need to get new screws to reset the pedal?

if you have a false floor (most jet boats do),,,take some 3/8" butterfly (wings) nuts & bolts & fasten it down...this is how i have my set-up...works fine & never an issue :)...check the underside of the hull for any holes (shouldnt be any!)...there is alot of pressure on the rear of the pedal & this will solve the problem forever! :)...just sayin' my .02 cents

if you have a false floor (most jet boats do),,,take some 3/8" butterfly (wings) nuts & bolts & fasten it down...this is how i have my set-up...works fine & never an issue :)...check the underside of the hull for any holes (shouldnt be any!)...there is alot of pressure on the rear of the pedal & this will solve the problem forever! :)...just sayin' my .02 cents

"OUCH"...a really "bad" deal :(...you could glass a piece of wood to the floor & then screw/bolt the pedal to that or you could use a bolt with a round head & square under the head (i think its called a Chimney bolt) & bolt it thru the hull...i personally would go with the block & screw/bolt glassed to the floor!!!!! :)...just sayin' my .02 cents

Well its how i got it, and when i looked upder the boat i ddint see it go through the bottom. I was leaning towards making a bracket for it to mount to my stringer?

through bolt

through bolt it, through the bottom of the boat. its not that big of a deal. it will never give you problems again, like the many other ways to do it. look at a v drive, there are about 40 bolts going through the bottom of my boat. its not gonna hurt performance either. just do a clean job, and seal it. you can use a big SS fender washer, and a SS button head, and a nice SS finish or a corn nut on top with lock tight. it wont ever come loose again.

on one of my old jets had issues keeping the fuel tanks in place. i beat the hell outta that thing. i looked at a friends flat, and saw that the two imco tanks were bolted through the floor. i had the same tanks, so i did the same thing to mine. no more issues.

my cp tunnel, had some hardware through the bottom as well.
