I just ordered my Clay Smith 130gph mech fuel pump. It needs to have a regulator. I need a regulator that will flow enough fuel, but don't want one with 4 exit's, just one in and one out. I'm running a Keith Eikert fuel dist log, and want to keep my current fuel line set-up. Suggestions ?

there are no 1 in, 1 out regs that I know of. The Mallory 2 point is 1 in, 2 out and has 3/8" ports, in&out. The Holley has 1/2" ports all around and is cheaper and a damn good reg. You can plug one of the outs and it will still flow out flow the pump. Don't try that with the Mallory and the 3/8 ports.

Thanks Sleeper, but can a 3/8npt in and out really feed enough fuel for my engine ? 521c.i., 9-10lbs. of boost, 2 1120 cfm Dom's, 6,400 rpm's on a AA.
You'd have to flow it, but 200 gph is 1,200 lbs of fuel; at a BSFC of .5 that would feed 2,400 hp. hummmmmm.

We have the original Holley billet regulator, I wish they still made them the new one posted above is cast. Our's has one 1/2" in port and two 1/2" out ports. I don't have a close up of it but you can see it in this picture:

Very good regulator, I just don't like the way the new cast one's look.

How did this work out?
I just put a Clay smith pump on my 540 with 8-71 and dual 850 dp Holleys.
#8 from gunnel tank to high flow inline filter to inlet. #8 out to 1 Mallory reg with 3/8" ports. #6 lines to both carbs.
Fuel pressure drops to 3# pretty quickly into a wot burst.
I hav another Mallory reg so I could go dual. If one larger reg will work I'll buy it.
The dip tube in the tank is 1/2" so I don't see how going bigger on the inlet will help.?

UNFORUNATELY it didn't work, I had the same problem you do currently. I calles C/S and talked to George. He was a great guy to deal with, and a wealth of info. If you want, PM your number and I'll give you a ring to explain how to solve this, or call Clay Smith and ask for George, he'll fix you up. I can type it out, but don't have the time tonite. Nothing top secret, just easier to explain person to person.

FYI, the system he set me up with has worked flawlessly, 8-9lbs. no matter what throttle position:).
