Sorry for the delayed reply...
The U-Coat was probably the most expensive kit that I compaired. Cost was somewhere around $500 I think. My garage is a little over 600sqft and I remember buying a little extra. I also really liked that I didnt have to buy anything additional, so add that to the cost of the other kits.
No problems or issues to speak of and still looks just as good as the pics.

I used Armorseal from Sherwinn Williams. It's a professional product, and not water based. You will need a respirator to apply it. I'm not even sure they will sell it to you without a contractors license. My wife worked for a paint contractor at the time I did it. My air compressor will leave rust stains on the floor, and they wipe up. After almost 10 years, it still looks new, and I've never had any hot tire pick ups. Well worth the money after I've seen what some floors look like after a few years.

are these epoxies strong enough that jackstands wont leave marks on them when used? just thought of this as i like to work on my cars. will this keep me from doing this?

They take a beating. I have big asz jacks that I slide all over the place. My wife dropped a 50 steel plate on it, it did nothing to the floor. I love it, gear lube, oil even trany and power stearing fluid didn't hurt it, comes off easy with a paper towel, even the next day. And no hot tire issue, and it gets hot here.

It took me two hours to do my RV garage in Havasu and it was June hot. The garage is close to 2,000 square ft and the epoxy slate gray paint still looks new going into its third year. The hardest thing was getting everthing out of the garage not the paint.
1. Follow directions and you will be happy.

I think the hotter out side the better. It still took a day for it to go off. If I had to do it today at 52 degrees it would be soft for a week. And my beer fridge is in the garage, how much would that suck.

From what I understand, probably the cheapest cost product that is worthwhile is the UCoatIt, as previously mentioned. This is the best mix between full professional and consumer products.

Non waterbased, 100% solids material is what is required for long lasting, beat it to death flooring.

Not to change the subject but what is available for an epoxy floor for a finished interior floor. My wife would like the stained concrete floor as a finished product inside the house. The original concrete is kinda thrashed so that is why I am looking into what is available in the epoxy.

You'll never be sorry for coating your floor if it's done correctly. Prep is very VERY important and the application takes time as does the curing but once it's done, you'll never regret it. It makes garage life so much more forgiving to spills, etc.

Its time to redo my floor. Which of these products resists solvents such as fuel or brake cleaner? What ever was on my garage floor when I bought the house 6 years ago is almost totaly worn off. Never had any "hot" tire problems, but gas and brake cleaner soften the stuff, then when you wipe up the fluid, up comes all the paint. Plus it has worn off in front of the tool box where we walk all the time.

Spend the extra money on a 2-part 100% solids epoxy. I have been doing epoxy/poly coatings for about 7 years now and it is true you get what you pay for. I am not saying have a professional do it, but definately spend the extra money on product and extra time on prep. We grind all garage floors to open the poors good so the epoxy bonds permanetely. I recommend an epoxy base 2 layers, with a polyeurethane top coat. the poly is what holds up best to chemicals and resists yellowing. feel free to contact me with any questions you might have, I will be happy to point you in the right direction......... You can have the original concrete polished. If it's bad, they can do a thin cut, then polish to whatever extent you wish.

Here are a few pics of my garage. I choose to use this kit because it came with everything I needed (brushes, rollers, gloves etc..) The only thing I had to buy was the muradic acid. The acid wash was also not used to "etch" the concrete rather just lower the ph in the concrete.

I went the extra step and filled in the contraction joints, these are not expansion joints and can be filled quartz flooring boston. I used a professional construction grade silicon to hold a half inch foam backing rod and then covered with self leveling Ardex that hardens to 1500 lbs per sq inch.

I choose not to do any colored flakes, however they are available. The flakes can be custom ordered to match your personal color scheme.

I let the floor cure about 2-3 days.

My neighbor used the kit from Home Depot and is getting a yellowish tint to the floor that is exposed to alot of sunlight after only 8mo's.
Hello Anyone have long term experience and reviews on epoxy floors? Interested to hear how it holds up after 3+ years and the maintenance involved. Also how it holds up with our climate in Ontario etc. If you recommend this route any good companies you recommend in the GTA? Thanks
