so is there a relation in the election and gas prices?
just wanting a lil educating, does the president actual govern gas prices in any aspect? some say the president has no relation to gas price, if so why are gas prices going down? related to the DOW dropping 500ish in the last few days?

The president does control the amount of leases on public lands and coastal waters for drilling. Of course we all know that supply and demand go hand in hand with cost.

Also, the value of our dollar has a big relationship with what it costs for a barrel of oil. The fact that our current administration is stifling business and economic growth, and has continued to spend beyond our means, it has had to print more money so our dollar is worth less and less.

Yes, he can release our reserves to make prices soft at the time of the election. It has been done before and I have no doubt that the next two weeks will be some of the best prices we'll see this year.

Now, after Romney opens up drilling offshore, on federal lands and in ANWAR, things will change in a major way!
