I was wondering if anyone can clarify the differences beteween changing one from the other in a blower application. I understand hard anadozing and so on. But if one was set up for alocohol. could you just use it on gas application or what would you have to change. Thanks, Brian

Fuel system. If injected then change nozzles, bodies, etc depending on injector. Carbs....well...they have to be able to flow over twice as much fuel wise. I think you'd be in rather new territory there as far as making the alky carbs work with a blower. Course your fuel pump system would have to be capable of keeping the carbs full.

Compression.....be nice to raise it for alky but you don't have to. Gas blower is fine with alky. It's just set up looser. No big deal there.

Mainly the capability to burn 2.2 times more fuel than gas.

chemically the systems are no different, gas vs alky, the differences are in like Fiat said, in the valving, (Barrel Valves) nozzles, jets, and brass check valve settings, alky is a cheap racing fuel, it makes the best power for the money, is more forgiving than even the highest dollar Fuels, and it's only draw backs are easily over come, just dont look for great fuel mileage.....it isnt going to happen, in Hot Rods, you dont get to have both Performance and economy......turbos are a little different, as long as you dont go to boost, you start leaning on the engine with Manifold pressure, ...things change after you do that,....

Well My blower was set up for alky ,( tight end clearance ) , If I was to try to run gas the rotor's COULD expand enough to cause a problem,, ( at the end of the rotor's ) ,....................Eric

plus I wouldnt, and I doubt the guys like Mert Littlefield would recomend running a Stripped Blower on Gas......unless it was Race only and adjusted for differences in temp, and I would run ALL my fuel thru the Hat not port nozzles

Why do you say to run all the nozzles through the hat? I thought running half through the port gave easier tuning. Just wondering.

what Fiat said, I didnt have port nozzels on Larks engine, my plugs all looked the same within reason, i angled the nozzles in the injector to put fuel where I needed it, and like Fiat said, it also mixes and has More time to mix....above the Blower, , on a BAE 6, you're going to run port nozzles because of the shear volume of alky, those engines are making roughly 2 times the power we made, but one thing it seems only the fuel guys are dealing with, and that is blower placement on the Manifold, they are scooting them farther and farther back so ALL the Port Nozzles are nearly the same, if you have to run a .078 in cyl 1-2, and taper back to .050's in 7-8, you arent getting the AIR where you need it, slide the blower back untill you can run all the same size nozzles and the thing will pick up a lot of power....
