Both of my tanks have ball valves coming off of them. Just remember to check them when you switch tanks and wonder why you don't have any fuel pressure :)coffee

I run two tanks into a water separator and then into the pump. I'm thinking about putting ball valves in between the lines from each tank.
i have the same setup that your describing and am curious to see the replys in this thread. i also was thinking of putting ball valves in my system so i can select between tanks.

i had the exact set up on my last boat, a 1/2 NPt nipple out of the tank directly into a ball valve, then to the water seperator, then on to the pump! These are virtually indestructable with modern fuels. I have run Pump gas, C12, and Avgas through the same valves for three years, and the previous owner had them in the boat for who knows how long.

Just make sure it is has " GW " ( "G" meaning gas / liquid petrolium and "W" being water rated ) on it. Those are what we use for commerical gas applications.
