I just picked up some brand new basset shortys, very nice headers, but I'm pretty sure they were a v drive application, the angle is good on them and the distance over the transome is a bit short but livable, problem is one side is about 3 1/2 inches shorter than the other, to make up the offset cyclinder space when the motor is reversed in the v drive boat, colloectors are also offset a bit when applied on my jet set up, should I cut the end to make them match? Add a piece (which would destroy the chrome)? Look for a different set and sell these? I'm open to any opinions or if anyone is needing a set of these or has some proper headers they would trade I can do that if its fair, thanks guys

Ya that's what I'm gonna do, water lines point to the rear as well, ill make it work

No can't flip them, cylinder 5 and 6 tubes kinda loop down a bit making that tube on the water line really short, when they are flipped its about 3 inches from the 1/8 pipe nipple, and a couple other angles are a bit different

Aside from the water lines, I am not sure why you think they are made for a V drive. If they were V drive specific, there would be a very pronounced downward angle on them when used on a jet. The collectors are off because they should be equal in length if you measure them. Wanting them to be even is typical of the FORM over FUNCTION mentality. "I don't give a damn how well they work, as long as they look good while working like shit." Terrible reason to cut a collector!
V drives look pretty bad with jet headers, but jets with v drive headers look plain stupid. Like the guy is clueless.

It is possible that a V drive guy cut them so they didn't look so rediculous on a v drive, and either made lines, or had Bassett make a set. Why anybody would do either is hard to reason. But anything is possible when some guys.

But they are most definitely not V drive headers.

Ya like I said above I'm just gonna leave them, these headers are brand spanking new, no cut marks and never been bolted on, they are temporary anyways till my new header parts come in from burns, I just want it going for the tom papp deal so these will be fine for that unless the new set is finished, thanks for the info
