I guess the biggest thing I want to ask ....long story short I was tryin to get brodix tech line today and was going through there web site, and pulled my heads up, and it said they were good with a 14 to 1 minimum compression ratio. ?????????? I have tons of other questions but we'll start there ..LOL:D BTW based on my experiance today , good luck getting a-hold of anyone at brodix. They did send an e-mail back saying ."sorry we no longer carry that product" I E-mailed back really there still in the jegs catalogue.:(:(:):)punch

You may want to list your part #, or better yet link to the page on the web-site you were looking at :)bulb or this thing will turn into the next: 3" stick in my pump thread. Wow.

Also your engine cu. in would be helpful. :)bulb

I probably didn't word it to well..I'm just wondering how a cly head could be compression specific? As far as what I have they are the brodix bb2 plus heads(non cnc'd) I have a chance to pick up a 572 short block and had this fantasy that they might work on the 572. Hmm ..someone just pointed out to me brodix site says 11.5 to 1 Wow I'd swear the screen I had up earlier said 14 to 1 and only roller cam. My bad , I'm still curious though.

I guess I should just shut up now but I'm not that smart. apparently I thought bb2xtra was the same deal as bb2 plus and .... So what is the biggest difference between a 14 to 1 and a 9 to 1 head?

No, seriously, it has a lot to do with the chamber shape and size, valve angles, etc. The last set of BB2X's that I had my hands on with cast chcambers looked like they needed a LOT of work. They would not be compression friendly. Fully CNC'd heads with nice smooth contours, smaller volume, less dome, etc. would be much more compression friendly. Maybe even a spark plug relocation. Not saying I know this to be a fact about Brodix and why they're differentiating on compression ratios, but those are some possible reasons why.

FYI...the BB2 plus is a small port (312cc) head for something up to about 500 in. Not going to work on a 572. The BB2 Xtra is a 365cc big mo fo head. Brodix offers 119cc and 115cc chambers in the BB2X and the extra, but only 119cc in the plus.

Picking a Brodix head can be confusing because they have a schitload of different heads to chose from. Why ? Because of all different motors / rules / cyl head porter preferences / and etc.

Many of the Brodix heads are cast to help the head porters. IE: give them a certain shape to start off with and give'm enoug material in the areas most likely to be ported. Thus, some of them aren't too great for 'out of the box' use.

Back before the 'bolt on world' Brodix was mostly it, and couple to this, most every head (OE, Brodix, etc) was being used for max competition and thus going straight for the customer's head porter's workbench.

There are really good heads out of the box, and there are really good heads for porting that are not so great out of the box.

Do your homeowrk before buying anything. A 'great head' may suk on your motor.

Also, the guys at Brodix were not (at least as of a couple years ago) set up to do a lot via email. It is best to contact them directly by phone. I've never had an issue getting in touch with anyone out there. As with most places in the performance industry it's generally best to get them mid morning.

Will the heads on my mark IV fit a gen 6 block? And if these heads are meant for a min. of 11.5 to 1 does that mean I shouldn't use them for say a 10 to 1 NA pump gas build? What about a pump gas blower deal? The heads are supposed to suport up to 500 cid and today I'm thinking 496.
