So yesterday I fly up to NorCal ... Zipper picks me up with his boat in tow at the Sacramento airport. We head east to Camp Far West.

Upon arrival, it was hot ... real hot. The water was low, but not too low.

We unload the boat from his enclosed trailer and start getting ready for him to start making passes. It was about then that Rob Burklin (Red Pearl) showed up.

We had an issue trying to launch it in quarter mile cove, shoreline was too soft ... so off to the main ramp we went.

Zipper got it in the water and ended up making around 12 passes. Then he let me make a few to see what it looked like and what I thought about how it ran.

I have to say that Joey Grose engine is bad ass. The boat's set up is super conservative and will be real safe for Zipper to get used to. Leaves hard and accelerates quickly.

Seth, thanks for having me ... Rob, thanks for the cold ones.

It was "Hella" cool up there.

Here are a couple videos of Seth (Zipper) making passes:

I friggen eco'd pretty loud. Water was perfectly smooth.

Even had another couple of guys in a jet boat come all the way from the other end of the lake to look for what was going on, they said they could hear it from a mile or two away.

The campers there w/o boats were all coming down to the dock.

It was a good time. I understand why everyone up there loves CFW.

When did you make it up to CFW?

BTW, was that your dad I saw pulling into Tower Park on Saturday? Brown SWTD behind a fairly new motorhome. Scoop had "RC Performance" on it.

March of 08 we went to cfw.

Yes that's my dad, he's there for a week with a bunch of our family. Wish I was there but our trailer is at the river and it's too much work to relocate the whole deal so we passed this year.

If you see him say hello.

I would, but I'm already home. :) He rolled past the Banderlog/LBBA group(we were in the loop right across from the pool) on his way to the far back area of campground. We all stumbled out and home this morning.

You know, they do have neat little cabins you can rent to avoid hauling a trailer.

I heard about the cabins but don't remember seeing them in the past. I'm really pushing to get a group of the river guys to hit the delta for a weekend, we've been going there for as long as I can remember and I love it up there.

Even for the racer guys I think the loop from tower park to wimpys to guistis then back around by b&w then to TP would be fun. I've done it in my daytona and I remember it being a fun trip and it wasn't too far, I know I never refueled.
