I'm getting ready to ship a pallet load of gear up to Alaska for my work skiff repower from an outboard to SBC 400 with Berk jet. I was looking at the intakes today and noticed a bit of difference as seen below. The top intake is a 2155 flat mount while the lower intake is marked 2324 and is a bit larger. It has a curved mounting surface and the interesting double arc shape at the end of the rock grate. Doing an internet search turns up nothing on this 2324 unit. Curious as to what the differences would be based on the overall length and the difference in the actual intake area.

Also the 2155 has a beveled mounting surface with countersinks for the mounting screw heads. Appears as if it was intended to be mounted below the hull bottom as opposed to the traditional top mount?

2155 is a real common intake youll see in most of the jetboats these days. Ive seen the other one before, rare intake but they pop up every now and then. If its going in a regular fiberglass jetboat run the 2155.

It's going in a heavy aluminum skiff. I'm in CA and the skiff in AK so I can't determine which will fit the shallow vee hull until I'm up in AK. I was more curious as to if there was any added performance etc in regards to one vs the other. I'm going to mount the unit in the set back position in order to get the gill out of the impeller whenever that happens!

The longer one is for 20 degree bottoms, deeper V bottoms would use the longer unit so the radius will match better on the mount flange.

No performance difference in stock format. The 2155 (standard) intake would be alot easier to machine for a shoe if your going that direction.

Performance wise the 2155 will be better. It has a lower profile. The longer one will give you more setback but it's a higher profile and will be less efficient. Will have a higher thrust line also since the drive will mount higher.
