Well......some of you will get a laugh out of this and laughing is what's keeping me kicking myself in the backside.....so live and learn. Just bought a used 19ft Daytona and been going over it as it's real nice. Well while standing at the back of the boat on the drivers side looking down into the pump area I notice the forward most bolt probably in the loader area is sticking up about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. I thought something was loose as I could not see the other side for comparison as too much stuff is in the way. Soooooo I get me a wrench and take it down flush. Get to the lake an notice we are taking on much more water than usual. When we get home I notice I now have this 1/8 to 1/4 bulge in the bottom of the hull and it is cracked. My question is how bad did I screw up. Can I just back the bolt out and have the area in the bottom repaired or is it more involved? Any comments welcomed

Gary first i want to say beautiful boat. I had the turbo boat that was parked by you. As far as the boat is concerned you will need to re-set the intake to fix it the right way. Most guys will just re epoxy the damaged area, let it cure then retighten bolts to specs. i would run it through the summer as is then fix it right through winter. or just sell the boat to me!!:)devil

Sorry to hear it Gary. Sounds like Eric is dead on. You are not the first to do this. I personally have not done it but I have heard from more than one person who has. That boat is way too nice to do some kind of hack repair. Fix it well enough to get you through the summer and take it easy on the boat. Fix it right this winter and drive her hard next summer.
