I'm presently (Highly) modifying a Chris Craft Scorpion 230 to a jet drive.
The boat has been lightened to around 1100 lbs hull weight with cabin.
Expected AUW Around 2200-2300 lbs or less.
gone is the outdrive and 350 merc. all wood except some unrotted sections in the cuddy all gone and replaced with nida core.
planning on 425-500 hp, jet drive. to use on the North Channel and occasional 24 mile run across the lake from South Baymouth Ont. to Tobermory Ont..
I prefer the jet over the outdrive for safety, quick hole shot, and far less worries about shoals and rocks which are a minefield of unmarked hazards near shore.
