Here is another lake I would like to check out this summer.
I have memories of pops bringing me and Pete there many years ago with the jet and having a great time at the state park there.
I wonder how strict the water cops are there? Anyone have experience with this lake?
I understand it's the 6th most beautiful lake in the world, I remember the water is a clear/green color down to 40ft depth.

Nice lake, we were going there 3 or 4 times a year with the sunsation but they do not like noisey boats. Alot of the times its windy up there for hot rod boats but its a nice park and beach for camping.

Went there once with the hydro. Made one loop around the lake and put it back on the trailer. It was ruff.:)st The DNR guys at the launch were cool they wanted to see me make a pass.:)devil

What state park ramp do you guys use? I have been to the one on the north end of the lake. The south state park looks to be much larger.

:)hand You would want to use the south end, very nice launch. There is also a little lagoon before you go out into the main lake that is out of the wind. That lake is always very rough. They do have a nice beach also. Are you guy's coming to Torch???:)hand That is the last ride Dad got in the Daytona before he past last Sept 27th,

I've boated on Higgins lots of times. It's a big lake and very beautiful.
It's like Torch in that the water is real clear but also can get very rough. It would have to be the right time of day to go fast.
There's a nice shallow area on the south arm/west side where everyone gathers. West of the island on the north arm can get shallow for I/Os.
Along the north east shore its real shallow too.

There's a huge boat launch area on the south side State park but it is full by 11am on the weekends. There's a marina on the southwest side and they rake you over the coals to launch and take out.

I remember getting caught in a thunderstorm on that lake in my old Cheyenne jetboat and seeing lightning hitting the lake on the far side. :))eek:))
