Had a good time at an event tonight, hadn't talked to or seen Jimmie or his dad Gary in over 15 yrs. It was a bit busy to spend more than a few minutes talking to Jimmie but got to talk a bit and met his wife, but had much more time to talk to his dad, did lots of catching up. That Trophy is kind of heavy ;)

I'm sure Jimmie would rather drive the CP, but the Moo's available if he ever wants to thrash it! (Big Fan!)

Good pic bro!

That's cool Jon!!

I read in his itinerary that he was going to be in town yesterday, and was wondering if you were going to the event and would get to talk with him.

Gary is a great guy, we had a good time on NY last year!

Good People!! :)devil

Hi Jay,

The security was tighter than at the White House State dinner last week ;)

Yesterday morning when I heard he was going to be here I sent an e-mail to Ricky Johnson (7x Moto X Champ) telling him I was his "date" for the night. Luckily RJ's wife didn't come with him.

His dad Gary is great, he always liked my mom and dad allot asked how they were doing and how the family business was etc. He told me Jimmie is building quite a car museum that I need to come back and see. Is was great talking to him at least I have a tour guide now if I go to NC.

Jimmie is without a doubt the most humble Champion/Super Star on the planet. He is as nice a kid as he was when he was little trying to learn about racing. I hadn't seen him for along time, when I walked up to say "HI" he saw me and went "Hey, thanks for coming out to say HI how are you doing" He must have said "thanks for coming out" 3 times. We have more than a few mutual friends with RJ being the closest. RJ is kind of my 6* of separation person.

Anyway, I hope he wins 5 in a row. :)devil

I'll be more than happy to show you around if you ever make it out this way, and his museum you are referring to (Manhood) is taken care of by one of my best friends/co-workers. His wife is Jimmie and Shanny's personal assistant so we got hook-ups everywhere!!!

Jimmie is just a GREAT guy that definitely hasn't forgotten were he came from. He hasn't changed a bit in the past 9 years I've known him. From being a nervous "rookie" to one of the best drivers the sport has ever seen, he is still the same............just ALLOT better of financially!!!!! :D

I told Gary that I remember talking to him in the pits at a Micky Thompson Off Road race and Gary said " This is going to open doors for Jimmie in Nascar" I told him that I remember walking away saying " He's full of crap, Jimmie's not going to get to Nascar by driving a Super-lite in the MT series" :)eh:)
I told him " Hey Gary I owe you an apology, it looks like your plan worked out ok";) He got a laugh out of that.

what a wicked series of seasons, it would be a awsome thing if they saw 5 in a row. One of the guys that i work with is a local short track racer and i love to bug him when jimmy wins (He is a jr fan). I personally love the "jimmy Show" as he calls it.

I've had a few conversations with Robby over the years, I even towed his Trophy Truck down the Power Station Road outside of Valle de Trinidad one year when he blew a tranny in one of the races. He still owes me a couple of beers for that. Glad you had a good contact with Robby, not all people will say that, but the times I've talked to him he was pretty cool.

As far as the Fain jacket, some years back our company was one of Don's best customers for a few years. That jacket and the other 3 we got from him cost us a small fortune ;)

Do ya think you could at least comb yer hair the next time you hang out with the "Real Champ"? the disrespect must be from the fact of the Chevrolet surroundings huh?
I thought so!:D

I think it was the lighting and the angle of the picture, I told RJ he's a better racer than a photographer. My wife said "what the hell happened to your hair? I hope it doesn't take another 14 years to get a better picture". I get no respect around here ;) It didn't look that bad in person.
