Hey GN is 124.65mph going to be enough to qualify????Paging Dave Sammons to the white courtesy phone please....Dave Sammons to the white courtesy phone.
Time to round up the boyz and DO IT AGAIN!:wink2:
Same boat different motor. Mike brendel owned it first and sold it to rip smith which is who my dad and his brother bought it from. Dave Wayt is my dad and bob is his brother. It's the real deal, there's no reason for me to bs here. My dad was 99% sure the record was set in UBGF but I didn't post that because it wasn't 100%. If anybody has a way to get ahold of mike or rip, send them in here please, my dad would be thrilled.I think the boat in the pic with the speed and record on the transom is a different boat. Probably earlier that the one the OP has. Not sure how many 006 Hot Damn Hondos there were, but I think at least as many as there were Mouses(MICE??) The HDH with the speed on the transom is white gel coat and the OP's is blue flake. I am pretty sure that the speed is lower because the 006 ran UBGF at the time that boat ran. That pic looks to be an original period pic and the boat looks like it has injection stacks. Jerry may have an ad showing it. Somebody else may know as well.
The fact that the OP's is listed as a 74 is interesting because Mike Brendel set a few records that year.
I don't remember that exact boat the OP posted. Where there the Mouse was always the same basic identifiable look and color scheme, the 006 had numerous paint jobs thru the years.
Its also entirely possible the boat the OP has is not the exact boat that set the records. It wasn't uncommon for a new boat to have the record painted on it that was set by the previous boat. At least until that record fell. :wink2:
Makes no difference which HDH 006 it is, it still a bad ass piece of history to own.

Never said or even thought you were BSing anybody. Looking at the original pic is enterly possible the boat is silver flake and doesn't show well in a old pic like it does in the ones you took. Having the picture in your hand and not looking at a scanned imagine I am sure you can tell better than anybody here. sorry is it sounded like I doubted you, because I did not. But there was a string of HDH 006 boats. Any one of which is a piece of history.Same boat different motor.
