Are there any ways to tell that a roller rocker arm is built better than another company? I heard something that a few companys use a "c clip " to hold the internals together, but after checking the major companys they all use this...

Crange Gold
Lunati Voodoo
Harland Sharp
Crower
PRW (anyone ever try or here of this company?).

Any help is appreciated.

Have you guys heard anything about the "c clips" ??? I hear the new Cranes dont use them (however this pic shows it) and they are suppost to be superior to almost everyone out there right now. Heres a pic with what im talking about...with the c clip.

I have personally only used the Harland Scharps and love them.

The clips don't do anything, it was thought that if the bearing tried to back out that this would keep it from doing that. I use to work for Rick Herrick who made the first rocker arm for Harvey Crane and he told me many years ago, you don't need them.

IMO the Crane for 2 reasons, made in the USA and I know the geometry of the rocker is correct giving you the closest lift numbers based on the ratio.

IMO the DOVE Roller Rocker is superior to all others designed to be used with Studs. DOVE holds 3 U.S. patents for the design and processing of these types of Rockers. DOVE holds a patent on the Roller Tip Axle design, and also holds a patent on the Hardened PushRod Seat that will not pound out. Also, they hold the U.S. patent on the Step design PolyLock Trunnion, for added strength and knowing which side goes 'up' toward the Adjuster. DOVE's are made of Aircraft T-7000 ALuminum on state of the art CNC machinery.

DOVE makes Rocker Arms for MANY different Cam companies and is the largest manufacturer of Roller Rockers in the world.

I use them. They are guaranteed against breakage/failure for LIFE.

Jim Dove and his family have made rockers for many years up in OH. If you remember what an old Manley looked like or a Seal Power in RED then you have seen one of these rockers. Dove makes alot of FE parts and other products for the Blue Oval.

I edited my post. It wasn't meant to be advertising. Just giving my opinion on who makes the best Roller Rocker designed to be used with Studs. RR

Never had any problem with my iskys 10 years old and not one failure yet.:)
The Isky rockers are definately indestructable. They're a little overkill for anything but hardcore endurance. We have a set on a friend's grandfather's old marathon engine that are still in service aftert thousands of marathon miles from back in the 60's and 70's. Go Isky Blue! :)devil
Edelbrock used to make a red alum. rocker that was killer.

The best stud mount rocker made is the Miller, bar none.

Well, there are probably 100 different brands out there. Everyone has their favorite. Just choose a color.

If it works well, it'll be someone's favorite. If it costs an engine, it'll be somone's worst nightmare.

Scorpions are supposed to be indestructable also. They make them for alot of different MFGs that put their own name on them. I have a set of their 1.75s to put on the HO, when I get around to it.
