Howard Deck with XPower

Saw the Silver Bullet boat in havasu yesterday morning. It was a Howard Deck with the Xpower surface drive and cleaver. Not sure what the boat has for power and also not sure if this was the same boat at the boat show in 08.

Just wondering how it runs with that drive, i have never seen one in a single setup. Boat looks amazing....:)devil

The Silver Bullet is KAP's Howard & it should have the new Mercury NXT not the X-Power. KAP is running a fresh Paul Pfaff BBC with the new 8 liter whipple. Its been on the water for a few years now. Im sure he will chim in and fill us in on the testing of the new drive.

if it is a blue and silver howard with Silver Bullet written on the back, then it definitely has a Xpower drive. the drive looked new, maybe last minute change of plans.:)bulb

Surly you meant 5 liter Whipple right?

Yes! that is our little deckboat and that is all I'm going to say:D:D.

Bmabity you have a keen eye:).

The conditions were miserable to say the least it was 93 degrees at 6:00 A.M. what a hectic few days.

I am still dialing things in and it is not easy. I will let you know when I am done:);).

had to do a turn around friday, oc to havasu, yuck it sucked... pulled into havasu around 8ish did my work stopped by classic burger around 11, thats when i saw your boat on the trailer driving by, ate and headed back down the 40. Anyways, i wont try to pick your brain i can tell your not ready to speal the beans. I will ask if the drive was new and how do you like it so far, cleavers are amazing for acceleration, arent they? ;) when is your next trip, i would love to check that thing out up close. if its allowed:D

Hello Mike:

In this situation handling and propeller selection go hand in hand. To little prop and you hit the rev limiter too much and it won't pull it.

I need to find the sweet spot in cleaver dimensions and you can only get there by running the props. If you know were I can find a 16.5 to 16.8 x 32-33 pitch x 18 degree rake five blade cleaver let me know---If not a 17dia might work I would be willing to try it in anyevent.

You have a lot of connections;).

P.S. I recall telling Demoman shhhhh keep it quiet next thing you know everyone knows I went the 8.3litre route:D;).

Hi Marc:

No! I did not sell any of it I still have the MMWorx drive and about 4 props all lab finished except one. This is still a new setup and I have not had much time to do anything I literally just put this new drive on.
