Howard's New 36 Exceeds Expectations

Just got off the phone with Gene. They have been in Havasu all week with Mercury Racing testing the new 36 Bullet. The boat exceeded all expectations by both Mercury and Howard. The boat ran between 105 and 110 mph, which was the same as the outside temp. This is the first time this particular boat has been in the water and is running twin 700s with NXT drives. Testing will continue tomorrow and more information will be provided later in the week.

It's ben real humid lately also, so putting up big numbers is even more impressive. Really good to hear the boat is doing so well.
Ok Kapp, I didn't do it; Let the cat out of the bag...where are the pics:D
I don't know about any of you, but I am finding very hard to believe that Gene is telling you that the 36 performed better than expected;) Him being so modest and all:D

Congrats!
I saw this boat at windsor today and its bad ass..........an over grown 25 bullet.
Good numbers with that heat...bit of wind chop as well...
Give me a reason to believe this....post a picture of this boat in Havasu..
It's a beautiful boat and I am sure it will demonstrate the same great Howard performance as they dial it in. Can't wait to see how it does in the ocean in some 5' swells which is the true testing ground for bad ass offshore V bottoms. Maybe that big blue Lavey will have some competition now. Speed numbers would probably increase also when they get it out in the big ocean water and see how it flies over those swells.

Like I mentioned to Scott in another thread "congratulations, you guys are about due." Wanna sell me your deck?:D
Glad to hear it!! Ill stick with my original number of 125MPH with the 700/NXT package once its dialed & the new owner has some seat time.

Hey wait a minute WTF how come I wasnt invited to Havasu for testing?:)
Gene was over here at Nordic a half dozen times during the week and we installed some
spacers on the drives etc with Mike from Merc Racing, (nice guy by the way). The boat is
beautiful, Mike says that the boat behaved very well and was simple to drive. He liked it.
Gene had a big grin on his face all week!

Some additional pictures. Not from the testing last week but from the shop today while they finished off some details and added a few additional items requested by the customer. Boat will be going out for additional testing in the next week or so. Customer is EXTREMELY pleased.

Nothing like 4 bolsters AND a bench seat...

I'm sure roln20s will appreciate these wheels and tires...

Because you can never really get enough of these engines...
