Is a Hydromotive Quad IV 25 pitch prop too much for my 28 Advantage Sport Cat 496 HO 1.5 Bravo 1. I currently have a 22P Bravo 1 on it now and it is great low range but not too hot upper end. I am also considering a 24 Bravo One but have a guy selling a 25 Hydromotive for a good price. I called Hydromotive today but all the techs are out for the week for spring break vacation. thanks, Dave

BTW my Tach is hitting 5200rpm with the 22P

Talk to Tom at Hydromotive. I would assume that boat needs more bow lift. I would run one of their P5X props. I have had the best performance with that prop hands down!

While their prop performed well, they didn't stand behind their product too well when I had an issue. I bought a prop and YES the time frame from the incident was a couple months past the 1 year mark but the prop was used on only 5 outtings and looked brand new. I had a blade snap completely off clean at the hub while cruising 50mph. All the other blades were untouched(i.e. i didn't hit anything). Basically it was failure of their product. You almost couldnt tell there was a issue unless you realized it was supposed to be a 5 blade instead of a 4 and realized a blade was missing.

They said interesting, to send it back and they would gladly SELL me another....Not me buddy.
