I could easily be wrong....but I thought the were made for an outboard, and tend to ride rather wet as a jet.
That was the reputation I had heard...no idea if its true...but I will say this, I remember seeing one some years ago and just thinking it was a SEXY boat.
wouldn't it have been better to ask BEFORE?
I like the way it looks and could not pass it up. Its a project and will have Harold Bruce @ R&D Marine working with me on setting it up!
I've heard of them running in the 110 MPH range frequently. The do run wet, but I bet Shoemaker would have some ideas for you.
I'm surprised we have to ask... but where are the pictures? You can't talk boats, speed or sexy without pics!!! :)hand

wife /girl friend and boat:)devil
Nice!!! That boat has lots of potential. Looks kinda familiar, I think it had a decent single carb motor, Berkley with a droop snoot and ran 90-95MPH.
Ya im hopeing to hit that mark with it when I am finished with it. :)devil
They are very nice boats when set up correctly. Harold has lots of experience with them. He put together a UBF jet that ran in the 130's. I'm sure you will love when done. :))THumbsUp

eliminator scorpion with daytona bottom

i have one with a daytona center kill in it and cant wait to get my other projects done so i can start it.there is one running aroud big river that has a good size motor in it and it runs real dry(just on the center kill)does your boat have any steps on the center kill?it was about $5000 to have the daytona center kill and the capping done.way too much money but it will run better and i wasnt the one that had to pay the $5000 so that makes it even better.does your boat have a shallow center kill w/steps in it?

My old scorpion ran really wet with the stock bottom, but with a "spoon" installed it dry'd up really nice. I wish i would have kept it, it was a great lake boat! :)
I have a good friend I go to the lake with all the time who has a white and blue one with I believe a 468 BBC with Brodix heads and a tunnel ram that runs in the 90's on pump gas.... It's a cadillac of a boat on the lake too!
