I have a 21' Hondo day cruiser with jacuzzi JW with place diverter and olds 455. Engine runs very good with stock build except comp cam, eldelbrock torquer intake and Holley 750 pumper carb. Seems the boat is more sluggish than it used to be and turning more RPM than usual. I turn 3200 -3400 all day long minimum just to get on plane and cruise and no less. Boat tops out at about 4700 RPM. Not sure about speed. I have never checked.

I was going to check wear ring gap. I understand I can do this through the access cover and should measure about .010". I believe it has a SS wear ring from Jet Boat Performance. My question is if the gap is to large what do I do then? Can I have a wear ring custom made to match the outer diameter of the impeller? Can I buy an "A" cut impeller anywhere? Any advise would be great.

Best bet would be to go back to Tom at JBP and tell him the story! They make oversize wear-rings for this problem if in fact it is a loose fit it can be fixed.

OK I will give Tom a call. I understand but correct me if I am wrong there should be 2 clearances to check...one is the outside diameter gap between the impeller and inside diameter of the wear ring. The second is the gap between the impeller and the pump housing.

Thanks for the help. I broke my phone and got a new one so I will get some pics of the boat as soon as I take it out again.
