This boat was my grandfather's boat. He bought it somewhere around 1985. Motorless. It's the boat I have so many memories of.

When he passed away the only thing I asked was it not to leave the family. My grandmother in the fall signed the title over to. Overwhelmed with emotions I made hast to get the boat in the water for the first time in five years. Did ok.

But summer is here and I want to run a little better.
So I have a binder off all the paper work my grandfather collected on this boat. What I was told is that the boat was ordered from the factory with a blown hemi motor. I have the bell housing and some pump parts to support this.

Now the boat has a 455 olds motor that my grandfather built with plans of putting a blower on. Motor is tired. But it runs so I'm going to leave it alone.

I would like to know more about the pump and what to expect from this. It's never ran great. Always plagued with carb issues. Maybe a low 50 mph boat. It does have an electronic jetovator on it. When we ran the boat last summer it didn't seem to work. Like the nozzle was floating and the boat would just porpoise.

The plan is to run it as is and hopefully full fill my grandfather's dream of a blown hemi in it one day. I know it sounds crazy but this boat won't be leaving my hands for as long as I can run it.
The boat has this tag on the jet:

Not sure why that's upside down. We have had the boat out for about 5 hours this summer and it's pretty obvious that the pump needs to be rebuilt. And the jetovator cable needs to be replaced. You can feel the boat revving up but struggling to plane out.

But it's been together for 30 years and countless hours.
