Hey there! Absolutely we are out here! As a matter of fact, a group of us has set it up for this year starting on May 12th, a performance boat night at Sunset Cove from 6-9pm. It'll be every Thursday for the season at Sunset and the best part is it's free! We are really trying to develop a strong network of the performance boaters and the local shops so nobody is in the dark about where to go and who to talk to. What kind of boat are you running?

I know of one jet that runs on Lanier- It's bright yellow and quite the rocket. A little small for my comfort level on the south end of Lanier, but he can drive that boat very well through the chop.

Im not on Lanier but im ATL area. Im mostly at Hartwell and some Alatoona thrown in there too.

I've been in the area for a few years, but my dad gave me his old '77 17' Westco V-drive with 390 power last year. I've been wondering how to find others in the area. I saw that yellow boat when I was out on Lanier last year, and I followed him around a bit. I wanted to stop and talk, but we just kept on running until my passenger had had enough. I need to get to know some people that can instruct me on the proper way to drive one of these.

I lived in Atlanta from '99-'05 and spent a lot of time on Lanier.....Where is Sunset Cove? Not sure I'm aware of it by that name but would know it by loication. Few places I haven't been on that lake.

Our typical weekend was spent in some private cove for part of the day, a little cruising, and then watching the craziness of Cocktail Cove. Then dinner and a late cruise while the crazies dissipated.

SunSet Cove is at the beach of the water park in Lanier Islands. Kind of around the back side from cocktail IIRC. Its "slightly" less crazy. Was there on 4th of july last year. They launch the fireworks show from the other side of the cove as the beach so that whole weekend they closed the beach to swimmer and let people run up on the sand. Had to have been $50 Mill worth of boats tied up all in there including a massive 3-Story houseboat beached up on the sand.

Bringing this back from the dead. I've got the boat somewhat sorted, and would like to meet up with like minded individuals. Is this meeting still going on in Sunset cove on Thursdays?
