The water is very low and there are some submerged obstacles, possibly a car at the end of the west dock. There may be something in the center of the launch area also. Be very careful guys. As far as I can tell, the east dock is the best place to launch, but I would recommend watching for a while before launching.;)

A car??? Are you serious? Is the East ramp the one closest to the parking lot? Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, east is the closest to the parking lot. There is a lot of oil in the water, and what ever I hit stopped the boat dead. Thank god I was only pulling it with a rope:)grn

yep, there is definitely something down there. Derek bumped into something when he was backing up from the West dock. I think there is actually two somethings down there by the docks.

Dead body in car??????????

There definately is something in the middle of the ramp.

The water is low because they have closed down the river flows to fill up Shasta for the June 13 & 14 run and so pastie cove at Folsom can be in full swing soon.

I told the park ranger that many boats are getting damaged and that we think it is a car and there may be a body in it. He took off to go do something about it. I think the body comment got him moving. Still makes me smile until I just thought what if there is a body in a car...........

I spoke with a Ranger around 7pm and he said a dive team from the fire dept went down that afternoon and confirmed a big tree was lodged around the center of the ramp. I then confirmed there was also something in the middle of the entrance to the ramp cove at the Sac river. THUNK!. Luckily no damage.

I hit it also....stopped my boat dead in its tracks. Then pulling the boat on the trailer I got stuck on the tree. Luckily not much damage. The River sucks.

Past Capt. (USCGAUX) - 3 Don Enos reports that there is a car or large log in the launch ramp basin of Discover Park on the west side. Several boats have damaged their propellers. Caution is advised during launching and recovery there. Park authorities have been advised.....

Folsom lake is at 407' up 5' as of this morning;

Hobie Cove @ Browns Ravine (380' at ramp bottom)---------Open
Granite Bay lower ramp (399' at bottom) ----------------Open
Folsom Point (Old Dike 8) -------------------------------------------Open

Browns Ravine ramp Closed but fuel dock open

Hope for more snow and a slow run off, otherwise it'll get sent south. I went across the American River yesterday and I don't think I've ever seen it as low as it is. You can almost walk across and not get your feet wet.

youd think folsom would give a rebate on their "yearly pass" when its only boatable 4 months of the year
Are you kidding? They are forcing water meters on a city that was promised never any water meters to subsidize So. Cal and their full pools and watered lawns, not mention the streets they flood every night. I think it's time for CA to be split in two... SF Bay area down the coast and across just south of Fresno, that would be So Cal, and we would be Nor Cal. :)bulb ;)
