Now that the deal is done and the new Shack should be done in 8 weeks or so, I need to get some feedback on retractable awnings. The drive down the side of the new house will be 56' long and my patio will be gone, so I want to have shade to prep the boats, hang out, etc. Any experience on brands, options, size, etc? The drive will be 11' wide.

Get the one on TV with the happy couple drinking iced tea under it. Gotta be the best. :D

Congrats on closing the deal.

I have a normal awning on my new RV, but try Carefree of Colorado. I used to have a camper with one of those and it was extremely simple to put in and take out..used a crank mechanism. HOpe this helps!

I'm considering the motorized ones with the remote control. I'll probably have 3 of them 15' long with a 10' overhang, so motorized will be easier when I'm feeling lazy. Quicker to retract if the wind comes up too.
