Hmmm.... There are folks on here that I am sure have a better knowledge of Daytona and similar layups over the years. Some of the "modern" day layup schedules are seeing hulls of lighter weights. And I don't know if there is a "Class" per say with ranges for each category.

Speaking in terms of "bare" hull weights, some of the early Daytonas were in the 600 to 700 lb range. In the early 80's there were a handful or so Daytonas that were layed up with Kevlar bottoms and lightweight tops that tilted the scales in the 450 to 480 lbs range. A number of early Cheyennes were in the 480 to 550 lb range in fiberglass.

One of the Cheyennes that is very competitive that was constructed of f/g in the last few years weighed in bare at 425. I understand there are a number of f/g Daytonas that may have been constructed recently that are in the 380 range. And the lightest of all is a certain TPR style hull constructed using various composites that came in around 280!

So... a big range indeed.... but anywhere from 650 down to 300 seems to be the range. I would classify the 575 to 750's as heavy layup, 480 to 550 range as medium layup and the 380 to 475 layups as light layup and under the 380 I would call extreme light layup.

Remember I am speaking of "bare" hull weight of a 19' Daytona, Cheyenne or TPR style tunnel.

Add other parts weight to bare to compare with what you may have. Shoe will have a real good knowledge on the Daytona database.

I'm pretty sure that the Daytona I raced with Rich Durnil that he bought from Ronnie Pitts weighed 280 lbs bare and Ronnies Cheyenne weighs around 320! I think both boats are early to mid 1980's.

well im kinda mid range then i guess..

its 600 pound minus engine

has full pump, droop, diverter all gauges wiring ignition and a steel rail kit .

dont want to pull everything to weigh it so ill guess all the hardware and pump weighs about 100 lbs

makes it a medium kinda deal at around 500 ish

i am happy with that but still wont let someone sit on my deck it flexes like crazy

Thanks Kevin

weight

I think you are much lighter than that (lay up wise) The last g bowl pump I shipped weighted 84 pounds, with a aluminum impeller. Thats with out steering adapter or nozzle.
Standard Berkeley intake is about 20lbs.I dont have a droop, but straight snoot I have is 7.2lbs.
So you are looking pretty good weight wise. Enjoy!!!!!!

Be safe, schick

Mine is sure light. Like when it sits at the river you can watch the top of the sponsons start to sag and ripple. The bottom of the boat was only about 1/4" thick. A few shops told me that the boat was about #350-#400. Then a reputable shop in norco and they said about the same.

I was told mine was a light lay up as well. Walking on the bow isn't a option, flex's really easy. I should have weighed it when the engine was out. Damn it !!!!
