If so, how did the install and subsequent use of both operating systems go?

Thx in advance

Cleanest way in my opinion is to partition the current hard drive or get a second hard drive. There are also software options available that can fool your system into thinking it is a virtual machine also. Install it on a Thumb drive and just boot from that drive.

I did it a little while ago as a test just to see if I could do it. I partitioned the drive 50/50 split and installed Suse on one partition and XP Pro on the other. They both worked fine.

I run ub 8.10 and vista

most of the time i run UB besides when i have to work in CS3 or i play a game or two.

I run 2 different 250g drives for each and then let both access my other storage drives for things like pictures and music.

Thanks guys

I was researching the ubuntu dual boot option. It's an older laptop with IGB RAM, small hard drive already split into 2 equal partions.
