I recently moved, only been here for about 6 months. This week a buddy had his boat over and we were doing a little bit of fiberglass work on it. He was dressed in a automotive mechanics type suit. A cop shows up at my house looking confused. He see's the boat so he knows he must be in the right place but he ask's kind of jokingly, was one of you wearing a hazardous material suit?. My buddy and I started laughing and said no. He said he got a call that sombody in a hazmat suit was outside sanding the boat and getting fiberglass dust everywhere. This was probably the coolest cop i've met, He stuck around for little bit and talked about all the stupid shit people out their call him out for. So today, My GF is reading the local paper, she loves to read the police reports because of all the stupid shit in them and sure enough, we are their! Funny shit, I know who called the cops, she came down about a month ago when I was running the boat and tried to say I caused her kid to have a as-ma attack. She lives about 10 houses down the street.. People these days...

Yup, that's San Clemente for you. Those tree huggers will call he cops on you for anything. I live in Dana Point for a while and if I did anything remotely fun all the neighbors would complain. I thought I was going to jail on July 4th for fireworks.

In fact, a friend just caught a huge blue shark in the marina and everyone there was screaming at him, calling him a murderer.

You got top bill over "Assault" and "Reckless driving".:)violent44
That's pretty cool.

My buddy lives in Stockton and sands glass in the driveway all the time.
The neighbors thank him because it covers up the stink of the nearby sloughs.:)sphss

Im on a first name basis with the local PD. I live across the street from a rest home. They always call the cops when im washing, running ,working on boats over here. The best is they stick around until the cops come and then say, "yeah i called the police" and they begin to tell the pd what was going on. I love when the PD tells the complaining party to go away and no laws are being broke and your wasting my time........Then the cops stick around and shoot the shit.....they dont even bother coming anymore really, just drive by and honk and wave........

Well i guess that's one good thing about living in the I.E. I've been working on the side of my house doing a resto on my day cruiser. I bet I've blown 10 pounds of fiberglass sanding dust into the air. Shit nobody even calls on the meth houses any more. We just wait for the explosion and fire, then enjoy the show.:)devil:)sphss

I don't know about the I.E. comment, I moved from the OC to Corona and everytime I did anything in my garage I got the cops called on me. One time I just rolled my buggy out of the garage onto the driveway so that I could work in the garage and my neighbor accross the street called the cops and said I was about to drive it and being that it was not street legal it was against the law. That was a fun, it was five years of fighting every weekend. I did however find a great sollution, I bought a foreclosed house in a different neighborhood that had been run down for the past two years. My new neighbors love me and I don't get any complaints when I am working on things anymore. They are just so glad the house has somewhat normal people living in the house.

Shhhhhh! Don't post that for everyone to see!!! People that live in Corona want everybody to think that they live in THE OC. They're just the back side of Anaheim Hills. Where I'm talking is actually in the I.E. Riverside at the edge of Fontucky.

That's so awesome! It was kind of that way when I lived in palm desert. All it takes is one dumb ass neighbor. That's why I live in thousand palms now. I only have one neighbor and they don't care what I do lmao. I was in San Clemente all weekend and my through is kinda sore. Feels like fiberglass dust :D

This is one more of countless issues why I will never move to California!
Few years back, some buddies and I drove up to Oregon and skated for about a week solid! great place to check out if you are into Transition, bowls and flowing parks BTW!...but when we were up there, We were not really drinking much at the time, no drugs at all, "Just Skating"!!! The local skaters were typically great to us, but!... the moment we stepped outside of the "park bubble", every single Oreginian that we came across looked at us like we had raped their first born!?!?!?!

So, here is my question to you Spectra...what is it about you Oregonians that make you think you are so much better than us Californians?...I guarantee you have some very opinionated tree hugging individuals up there just as we do, and trust me, they dont mind their own business just like the worthless ones down here, BTW we are only beneath you due to placement on the map as well as elevation, but thats about it! In short...Try not to judge those who you dont know, we Californians are just like you Oregonians, just a little bit warmer in the summer and winter, you guys can keep the rain and wind too, I quit flying kites when I was like 10.
P.S. If you say anything about our cost of living and taxes being too high to live here,....I hear ya, but then again have you seen the talent that we have down here????
Shaun, sorry for the left hand turn bud, the News print is classic, you need to keep that for when californiia makes us head north to Oregon to build boats! haha
TRG,....just another shithead in Sunny southern California.

Ive lived in corona for 16 years now and your right anything from magnolia and the 15fwy south these people think they live in the OC and working for a local P.D. I deal with the most dumb calls, for those who have been to the city of san bernardino you can imagine the type of ignorance that is delt with. The news paper article shaun posted is printed in order calls received not prioritized... and the I.E. is full of meth labs actually riverside is the meth lab capitol of the US next is some city in montana... Shaun I got a few of those pesky neighbors always calling corona p.d. fire up the boat, park in front of there mail box, or the motorhome is parked on the street, or better yet I got the garage stereo going at noon, you would think they would realize after seeing corona pd at my house just to hang out, or like futs said they drive by honk and waive they would give it a rest..

If you're still riding, you'll have to hook up with Dana (the oldest son). He's opening a skate/surf/snow shop in Long Beach (I'm not cool enough to say "LBZ" or whatever) and is very connected to quite a few of the skating greats/legends. He's even considered a very good skater, though I can't believe I'm saying that 'cuz I told him for years it'd never lead to anything. I guess when you skate for 4-8 hours a DAY you're bound to get good. :)sphss Apparently, working at Vons wasn't his thing.

GET'EM! I was just in Berkeley and from my knowledge, the farther north you get the more it becomes hippyville! No matter where you go, tree hugger's and folks leaning left of center will be there. Contrary to popular belief, there are even a few in Arizona! :)grn

Not upset with Spectra 224 at all, just curious to know how different we from here are compared to him (Oregonians) up there. To the people in Washington lift their noses to Oregonians? do canadians do the same to those from Washington? I know mexicans come north for the benefits, What benefits would I gather if I move to Oregon...Skating great parks is soooo obvious, but what else?

I fired up the boat one afternoon, my brother was playing golf at the course about a mile away, he called me on his cell phone. :)devil

And Shaun that's funny.....you need to give them something to talk about one afternoon maybe a "plug check"

Dont get me wrong, I like the west coast! Every state has their bogus laws but Ca. seems to go a bit overboard with the gun laws, modification of street legal cars, and god forbid you try to get a divorce and have kids to deal with! (FYI, I have no kids! and a great wife!)

If I had someone calling the police on me every time I pulled out a sander or paint gun I think I would be living full time at the pen by now!
Just to much BS to deal with in my book! Never have liked other people trying to live my life for me!

I will leave one positive note about California while on the subject! I love stopping at the liquor expo on my way back home!:)devil
