I live in So Cal. Was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on lakes in the area. Are there any in the San Diego area that worth taking the boat to? Im aware of Lake Perris, Elsinor....any others? thanks in advance

In San Diego, you're pretty much limited to El Capitan Resevoir in Lakeside right now. San Vicente is closed while they raise the height of the Dam.

I've never been to Elsinore, but IMHO, Perris is a $hithole......

lake Elsinore suck. its only good for one thing and that testing before you drive 3 hrs to the river. if you want to turn left all day at 35mpr go for it. i would just go to the river

Southwind - my thoughts are the same about Elsinore. Anyone else?

How about Otay Lakes in the Chula Vista Area?

It's been years since I have been to El Cap (my boat lives at the river now), but when we used to go there, once you got around the corner up in the northern finger, you could open it up pretty good if no LEO's were around.....
