I have decided to go with the twin LSx turbo build mainly because the power of a big block is not needed. The drives will be good up to 800hp MAX at 6300-6400 max rpm. I think that the LSx engine will be able to acheive that with turbos and be more efficient.

my main goal is NOT crazy accelleration since the drive is the weak link....I am looking for top speed and SUSTAINED WOT so I need to build the engines tough and able to withstand the heat.

I would like some opinions on what components to use to get a reliable 800hp @6300-6400 rpm. I want to start with an ERL sleeved alum block so that I can get 441-454ci. The ci is important to me so that I can have the torque to cruise (3500-4000 rpm) while NOT in boost. I also want alum if possible for weight reasons. Forged rotating assembly.

What ci ???(441=4.125 bore x 4.125 stroke) or (454=4.185 bore X 4.125 stroke)

How much boost and with what heads to get to my target?

I want to do a single turbo (water jacketed headers and turbo housing) what turbo?

does a junkyard 6.2ltr or any other help me to get my parts for less money?

Any other advice while I am planning what parts to get.

Again reliability at sustained WOT and 800hp @ 6300 rpm is my goal. I know this may cost $$$$.

when you say stock crank....are you talking forged? do they make it in 4.125 stroke?

I heard that the l92 heads have weak deck thickness but I figured I would be running less boost than you with higher ci.

What about valves? With a larger bore I can run larger valves....and would it be a good idea to run inconell to withstand longer WOT runs?

copy and paste that here:

if 400ftlbs at 4k would do ya, i'd build twin 6.2liters with forged pistons/rods, use the stock cranks(they'll hold up to 1200hp).6.2l heads are flowing mofos stock.
Its amazing how GM got that cranks so much stronger than the BB using such little mains and rod pins. Because NOBODY claims a BB crank is that strong. Are they still that strong out to 4.125, 4.250, 4.50, 4.625? Will a 4.625 withstand a sustained 1200 HP

x2, let the old man try and find someone who's even broke a stock ls crank;) as much research as he's done lately to discredit a smallblock ls, he should have no problem finding a "i broke my stock ls crank story" right?:)bulb:D won't happen
