I believe I sent you a reply elsewhere, and would not jump into Jim's column, but the easy answer is to call Carson Brummett in Pasadena, CA. He continued to build some boats after his father was killed (around 1970 if I recall). He would probably be happy to talk to you for a bit if you approach it right and catch him when he is not too busy. (626) 792-6410

Congrates on your find. This would make a Great restoration project and something that should only go up in value. I doubt there are many around and this one would make a real head-turner. I have a 1970 Schiada 20 Mini DC that I will post pics of in a few weeks. Keep us posted on your progress, neat boat. There are some older Sanger DC's around that are low and sleek, but haven't seen one in a long time. I really like these vintage cruisers.

My apologies to jim I am new to these forums and am sorry for posting here...I saw v-drive and thought this would be the place to post...I do appreciate your input obnoxious and will contact Mr.Brummett and inquire about the Mandella's history...And yeah schiada I think she will be a keeper...I picked it up for $2500:D and would hope it holds it's value...It needs a little cleaning up buffing etc...She has the old style in n out top loader/w rev that seems to have a small oil leak but the engine is solid...Some other lil thing's like fuel lines, belt, oil change and tune up...The biggest thing needing done is removing the original fiberglass fuel tanks that are molded to the hull...Prob do that after this season...I will post future pic's,updated in a diff area of the site once I figure out where to do so...Happy boating and have a safe summer...:)hand

What I was saying is that I didn't mean to step on his toes by answering before him in his column, I was not criticizing you for posting here at all.

Hey I'm glad when someone jump in. I learn things from everyone. You can post here or in the V-Drive section. A lot of good answers come from both sections.
Good luck with you new ROCKET what a find.

I have an 18 foot mandella, blue metalflake fiberglass, 1960, purchased new in 1959 by my dad. SK hull was designed by Rudy Mandella, who sold the company to Louis Brummett, Jr. Your hull looks identical to mine at rear of boat. I removed the glassed-in tanks (2) and went with a single v-shaped tank in bow. My boat has not missed a summer, and is fully restored - you have a real boat there. Ken
