I tried to post this in the "Industry News" Thread but I don't have that access so here is what I just got: Offer ends during the middle of the LA Boat Show.

Through the "ITS Free Again!" promotion, 525 EFI and 600 SCi Bravo XR package orders will receive a free upgrade to the Mercury Racing Integrated Transom System (ITS) - a $6,437 retail value, according to the company.
The offer is good only on 525 EFI/600 SCi engine packages ordered from Mercury Racing between now and Feb. 26. To qualify, orders must be shipped by Feb. 26.
ITS, featuring integral power-steering cylinders as well as performance upgrades to the Bravo XR drive housings, enhances drive height flexibility while making the transom more aesthetically pleasing and simplifying installation, according to the company.
The ITS upgrade is available for 525 EFI/600 SCi engines outfitted with Bravo One XR and Bravo One XR Sport Master drives. 525 EFI engines outfitted with the Bravo Three XR drive also qualify.

I always wonder why I don't see more of the ITS systems being used instead of an extension box with cylinders attached.
Which is better?

This is a sweet promo - big savings and I personally really like those boxes. F29 with Merc 600s and ITS...sounds bad ass to be me!

So correct me if im wrong but does this eliminate the need of external steering?

the external steering is built into the ITS system, your not deleting it just locating it differently. the nxt and #6 drive place their steering in the same area as the ITS.
