Not one bit!!! Also, the exit is not any smaller. There is a velocity choke in the middle. But the exit is the same size as or bigger than any other collector with the same primary pipe size.
Don't fall into the trap of thinking a smaller exit makes it queiter. 2 1/4" zoomies are much louder than 2 1/2" ones. Its an energy thing. You have to convert the energy to a different form. Like heat. Making the pipe smaller does not convert the energy the energy. It only increases the velocity. Which only changes the pitch of the exhaust note.
I rode in a Comp-Jet this weekend. Harold Bruce's. Wow that thing with smaller tubes ( i think Jr told me 1 3/4" ) is the loudest damn thing I've ever ridden in. Listening to it run standing on the sand bar that thing has a hell of a "note" to it. Jr told me it sounds much "meaner" with the small tubes on it.
Went for a ride in Harolds CJ did ya. Its a joy to watch Harold bust that thing out every so often and show the kids the way around the course. Harold is the man. Yeah, like I said, diameter isn't the answer to quiet
