I'd like to share a photo from my personal archives. The picture was taken in 1966 at the Miami Seaquarium. My mother (far left) is helping my kid brother feed a dolphin. The thing that has always fascinated me about this image is a matter of perspective. In the background, you can see another kid sticking his hand in the pool to feed a different dolphin, but the angle and positioning of the photo makes it look like he's sticking his hand into the open mouth of the dolphin in the foreground. Pretty weird, eh?

It's also funny to think that there was a time you could get this close to some dolphins in what appears to be an ordinary public swimming pool. You could jump right in. In fact, I'll wager somebody did.

I remember going to the Miami Seaquarium many times as a young boy too.

Good times in South Florida back then.
