I am watching practice for the pespi 400 on speed... Isn't there supposed to be a giant set of mountains out there??? Wow!!! early morning in October and its grey looking from one side of the track to the other...
That's how those mountains look pretty much everyday unless the Santa Ana winds are blowing or after a good rain. sphss My shop is in Fontucky and I look at those mountains everyday out of my office window.
I am here and have been walking around and as it was getting light you could see the for rolling in! From the back stretch you couldn't see the stands!
The Marine layer burns off by 11; noon at the latest. The Mountains are hardly visible at all times these days.
The last time I was out there I heard the Inland Empire has the worst smog this side of Mexico City.
As a kid I remember a clear view of those mountains on most days. Now whenever I go out there it seems like a good day gives you the opportunity to sort of see the mountains.
After living in Denver for the better part of 10 years it is hard to call those hills mountains.
