we r planning a trip to the colorado river area at the end of this month. with that said all the parties involved all agreed on going to havasu in the beginning. now all of a sudden someone who was invited chimed in and said "oh hey i have an aunt that lives in big river". which means our endeavor may take us to the parker area for boating festivites. the only thing about this development is i am NOT! a parker fan. i have not been in 5 years cause of bad experiances and i am just not a parker fan. being limited to narrow north and south driving and worring about what time to hit the water bothers me. i just want to drive my boat and not worry if im gonna hit something. i have friends that invite me all the time and all of them have hit something in the shallow ness at least once (experiance boaters all of them). in havasu i can hit the water any time anyday and not worry about buying an outdrive or a prop and dont IMO have to worry so much about traffic, havasu is very open and if you want to just disapear for the day you can and if you want to get into the mix you can. so if it comes down to parker being the destination do i go or dont go given the senarios. (i prob will do what i do and thats havasu.) been doing it for 17 years 8 of those as a boat owner. i have never put any boat i own in any of the river sections like parker blythe or laughlin and ive never been past needles bridge from havasu (not the 40) what do i do? i want to hang out with these people but parker is going to be a deal breaker for me.
