I will be down to pick up a new (to us) boat in Sacramento the first week of May and wanted to do some boating with my friends in the area. Naturally, my first thought was to hit the Delta.

Can someone give me a brief rundown on what to expect this early in the season? I have heard the water is still cold and weather not overly warm...as well as the possibility for debris from snow runoff. Boat is a 21ft Ultra with a Jet.

Am also looking for a marina with accomodations close by. Trip will be in the middle of the week probably Wed-Fri.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you go south of Sacramento, there is an area called the Deltaloop.
Water is about 60 degrees and most of the floating debris is harmless.

B&W has the best accommodations, but it is on the rustic side.

Below is the link to the area:

Some of the best boating is west of Lodi, Ca. There are nice Motels in Lodi, about 7 miles from Tower Park Marina. Tower Park has Cabins for rent too, if you want to stay there. Water is always cold and alway need to watch for debri. It is worse this time of year. Your jet is safer than a prop. Have fun.
Snug Harbor has Cabins also. Google them up and look at the map.
