ok went out yesterday and the ol 455 was running good. all the sudden i noticed oil was coming out of the dipstick tube the breather was smoking really bad and it blew the pcv out this is the first time this has happened sometimes it would do it then sometimes no smoke or nothing ad then it would do it again where is all this extra pressure comin from :)st

Check Compression , cylinder leak down, crankcase overfill, could be something simple , could be a stuck ring from setting The "C" test and leak down will likley tell you what you need to know Tom

When do you have the problem? Had an olds and it did the same thing....What I did to slow the oil was....I had a set of heads that had the oil drains opened up a tad and put a somewhat choked breather on. You might consider a stock oil pump, puke tank and keeping it under 4000rpm.

it seems like it does it whenever it wants to no rhyme or reason ill be going across the lake at 3000 and it will start doing it and then it will quit ok i guess ill check the compression and do a leakdown test i hope this doesnt ruin my summer see whats weird to me is that it never did this at all but i put a new fuel system and new ignition system on it and that is when this whole thing started
