Well I finally got my old steering cable out. I did find a numer on it..Morse 300-180 IN 7190. Can someone tell me what this means and if I replace the diverter cable will I need to measure it and where do I take the measurments from?

I understand Morse was bought out. What should I replace it with?

Check out rex marine, they had instructions on there site on how to measure and i think they were the ones who possibly had replacement cables. Honlestly a complete kit really isnt that much, may just want to go that route.

180 inch cable... 15 feet... Biggest problem will be if it is the old style connector or new style...

I can cross that to a teleflex. Stii cheaper to buy a complete steering kit

Your cable should be a 300620 or 300619. Red jacket is 300620 and black jacket is a 300619. The cross is a Teleflex SSC130-15 for your cable. I sell them for $119.00.

Xs 2 ...generally theres accumulated wear in the old helm by now as Morse has been gone for a few years and installing a new cable on an older helm (pinion) may not give the most positive result, New Rack systems are inexpensive by comparison to cables and retrofit nicely Tom
