When you buy a new boat complete with motor, What are some of the things I should be concerned with:)sphss? What do I look for:)Unsure? What do you look for? And how do you know what you bought(gearing, etc) with out breaking evrything down.

-Service the v-drive

-Get the prop checked for cracks

-Make sure the steering chain has a bolt through the last link that the cable wraps around

-Tighten all bolts

-check the strut bushing

-New impeller on the water pump

-Service the bearings on your trailer

-tighten bolts on driveshaft

-add more grease in u-joints, shaft log, and rudder seal

Some more will come to me, but that is a good start

Take a screw driver and tap (handle end) the floor around the v-drive area and the engine area on both sides of the stringers and around the strut area to make sude there isn't any delamanation going on.

Also look for discoloratoin in the wood on the floors
and stringers.

Make sure there is a safety collar on the prop shaft, right in front of the strut log.
Check for slack in the steering cables, they should be like guitar strings.
